FSA Books 15,000th House Location Survey
August 18, 2003
Hagerstown, MD -
Monday's survey order from a local resident marked the 15,000th Washington
County house location survey performed by Frederick, Seibert & Associates,
Inc., a surveying, civil engineering, and landscape architecture firm.
FSA has been providing this service to area homeowners, real estate settlement
firms, and over 30 attorneys since the 1970s.
House location surveys are usually required by mortgage companies from
customers seeking title insurance. Surveyors gather measurements so a
drawing can be produced showing the location of the improvements to a
property and any building restrictions and easements that may exist on
the property.
FSA's house location department manager Dave Harman says recently his
department has been handling 25 surveys a week. Harman, who has handled
50 surveys a week, notes there is a big difference in the amount of house
location surveys when real estate interest rates increase or decrease.
Harman states, "We are very thankful to our clients for their loyalty
which has allowed us to reach this milestone. We will continue to strive
to provide accurate, timely surveys."
